Three Bolivian police officers and a lawyer are accused of drug trafficking in connection with the case against General Rene Sanabria. The general is currently in prison in the U.S., awaiting trial on trafficking charges. The police, who are part of Bolivia’s Special Force Against Narcotics (Fuerza Especial de Lucha Contra el Narcotrafico – FELCN), allegedly failed to check a shipment sent by Sanabria at the port of Arica in Chile. The shipment contained 144 kilos of drug hidden in zinc. Bolivia’s attorney general found that the lawyer paid $8,000 for the zinc. All the defendants denied responsibility, but the judge gave the order for their arrest. Sanabria has been in jail for two months, since he was captured in Panama in February, reports La Razon.
